Terms of Use

Acceptance

By downloading or using CartKind, you agree to these Terms of Use. If you are under the age of legal majority in your jurisdiction, use of the app should be reviewed and approved by a parent or guardian.

Description of service

CartKind is an informational shopping reference app. It scans product barcodes, checks ingredients against user-defined rules, and presents a pass, caution, or fail result. CartKind is not a medical device and does not provide medical, allergy, nutritional, or dietary advice.

Third-party product data

CartKind uses Open Food Facts as the primary lookup source and may fall back to USDA FoodData Central when Open Food Facts does not return a usable match. Product data from third-party sources can be incomplete, outdated, or inaccurate. You are responsible for verifying ingredients by reading the physical product label before making food decisions.

Subscriptions

CartKind offers optional premium subscriptions through Apple's App Store.

Optional external links

The app may offer optional source-reference links and optional shopping links. Those destinations open outside the app in your browser and are governed by the third party's own terms and privacy practices.

Some shopping links may be affiliate links, which means CartKind may earn a commission if you choose to make a purchase, at no extra cost to you.

User responsibilities

Disclaimer of warranties

CartKind is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that product information, source data, or app functionality will always be complete, accurate, current, or uninterrupted.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Tyche Ventures LLC is not liable for damages arising from use of the app, including decisions made using third-party product information or failure to verify product labels.

Intellectual property

CartKind and its original design, branding, and software are owned by Tyche Ventures LLC. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or reverse-engineer the app except as permitted by law.
