Tyche Ventures LLC ("we," "our," or "us") built the Kids Meal Planner app (the "App") as a free application with optional premium features. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use our App.
The App is intended for use by parents, guardians, and caregivers who are at least 18 years of age (or the age of legal majority in their jurisdiction). The App is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
We do not collect, store, or transmit any personal data to our servers.
All data you enter in the App — including child profiles, names, ages, allergies, contact information, pantry items, meal schedules, and photos — is stored locally on your device only. We have no access to this data. We do not have servers that receive, store, or process your information.
Our App is designed to help parents and caregivers plan meals for children. While the App stores information about children (names, ages, allergies), this information is:
We comply with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), and applicable privacy laws worldwide. Since we do not collect any data from children or adults, no parental consent mechanisms are required.
The App may request access to your device's camera and photo library for the following purposes:
Photos and camera data are stored locally on your device only. They are never uploaded to any server or shared with third parties. You can revoke camera access at any time through your device's Settings.
Open Food Facts API: When you scan a barcode, the App sends only the barcode number to the Open Food Facts API (openfoodfacts.org) to retrieve product information (name, brand, category). No personal information is sent — only the barcode number. No device identifiers, user IDs, or location data are included. Open Food Facts is a free, open-source database. Their privacy policy is available at openfoodfacts.org/terms-of-use.
Amazon Associates: The App contains links to products on Amazon.com using our Amazon Associates affiliate tag. When you tap a product link, you will be directed to Amazon's website or app. Amazon's privacy practices are governed by Amazon's Privacy Notice. We do not receive any personal information about your Amazon purchases — only aggregated, anonymous sales data.
Apple App Store: Subscription purchases are processed entirely by Apple. We do not collect or have access to your payment information, billing address, or Apple ID. Apple's privacy practices are governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.
All App data is stored locally on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework. Your data is protected by:
If you delete the App, all associated data is permanently removed from your device.
Because all data is stored locally on your device and we do not operate servers or databases that store user information, the risk of a data breach from our systems is effectively zero. The only network request the App makes is the barcode lookup, which transmits no personal data. In the unlikely event that a vulnerability in the App is discovered that could compromise locally stored data, we will promptly disclose the issue via an App update and on our website, and provide guidance on how to protect your information.
We do not use any analytics, tracking, or advertising SDKs. We do not track your usage, behavior, location, or any other activity within the App. We do not display advertisements (affiliate product links are not behavioral advertising). We do not use cookies. We do not create user profiles.
We do not sell, trade, rent, or otherwise share any user data with third parties. We will never sell your data, and we have never sold user data. The only data that leaves your device is:
Since all data is stored locally on your device, you have full and complete control:
For California residents: Under the CCPA, you have the right to know what personal information is collected, request deletion, and opt out of the sale of personal information. Since we collect no personal information and sell no data, these rights are inherently satisfied.
For EU/EEA residents: Under the GDPR, you have rights to access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, and objection. Since all data is local to your device and we process no personal data, these rights are inherently satisfied.
The App does not verify allergy safety or provide medical or nutritional advice. The App is a planning tool only. Parents and caregivers are solely responsible for verifying food safety, checking for allergens, and consulting healthcare professionals regarding their children's dietary needs.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, through an in-app notification. We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically.
